Hey Reader, Quick behind-the-scenes note. I'm mid-build on something, and I'd rather bring you in on what's going on than wait until it's polished before sharing it with you. You may have heard me talk about the Steady Speaker Power Hour in previous emails. Until now, it's been a general hour of support for dealing with speaking nerves. I'm now rebuilding it around one specific issue: the moment your mind goes blank mid-presentation. One hour can't fix every issue we face when giving a presentation or talk, but it can give you something to reach for when that awful blanking moment hits. So that's what we'll build together in that hour:
And that brings me to my problem. The specifics of the offer are now clearly laid out, and I'm making the final tweaks to the sales page copy, but I can't for the life of me decide what to call this thing. "Steady Speaker Power Hour" was a great placeholder, but it was never meant to be the forever name. It never told you what you actually get, and I know I can do better. So here are my four options. You'd be getting me out of this rut I'm in by clicking the one that speaks to you most: → Presentation Comeback Plan Clicking won't open a form or ask you to type anything. I can just see, behind the scenes, which one you picked. A new window may open showing the most basic "thank you" page. Look how tech savvy I'm becoming. (Goodness, now I've said that, I really hope these links work)! If you have a better idea for a name, please do hit reply and tell me. I'm open to different suggestions - Lord knows I've been staring at these four long enough to make my eyes dry up. Want a free session? Enter the draw. When I finally get this all sorted, one winner gets a free session of the new offer. To enter, reply to this email with an answer to any one (or all) of these (one sentence is plenty):
That's it, you're entered. The details: the draw closes Friday 9th October at 11pm Japan time (3pm UK time). I'll number the entries and pick a winner at random. (I might even do this on camera for Instagram, of course with no email addresses or names shown to keep your anonymity). I'll ask your permission before I name you as the winner. I may also quote replies anonymously on my sales page and in my posts, so please do tell me in your reply if you'd rather I didn't. I'll share the winning name with you first. Steady together, |

Hey Reader, Your inbox is about to get very loud. Halloween, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Thanksgiving, Christmas. Every brand you've ever bought a candle from is about to remember you exist. So before it starts, I want to make you three quick promises. And further down, I get to the good stuff - I'm sharing five hills I'll die on as a nervous system -led speaking coach. Promise 1: No Black Friday discounts from me. Sounds harsh, I know. But here’s my belief: When everything goes on sale, you...
Hey Reader, Quick one today. I want to tell you about a presentation I gave a few years ago, at a conference. The last time I'd given a talk on this exact topic, barely anyone showed up, one person left halfway through, another fell asleep. It went terribly. So this time, I over-prepared. I rehearsed obsessively, I was proud of my slides, and I turned up dressed to the nines, white top, black pencil skirt, feeling more ready than I'd ever felt. I was expecting maybe four people in the room. I...
Hey Reader, I've been teaching public speaking and presentation skills for over a decade now, everything from how to research and structure a talk, to the delivery techniques every public speaking guru swears by. I've taught all of it, without question, for years. And then I met Max. Max was one of my students, in a class where every few weeks small teams had to stand up and present their work to the group. He'd done everything right for his turn. His slides were organized, research...
